Wei Yan

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

Wei Yan is an assistant professor at the School of Education, Renmin University of China, and the translator of Professor Geoffrey Cohen’s book Belonging: The Science of Creating Connection and Bridging Divides for its Chinese edition. She maintains a long-term academic collaboration with Professor Cohen, who serves as her Postdoctoral Faculty Sponsor and lifelong mentor. Dr. Yan’s research focuses on the intersection of psychology and education, particularly in adolescent development and cultural values. She applies the self-affirmation paradigm to various themes and contexts in China and is dedicated to bridging theory with practical applications. Dr. Yan aims for her research to positively influence global education systems. 


She earned her master's degree and Ph.D. from Tsinghua University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University.
