Isabelle Tay

RESEARCH AFFILIATE

Isabelle Tay is a research affiliate at the Cohen Lab at Stanford University. Her research focuses on creating and customizing interventions informed by social psychology to enhance psychological well-being and resilience in the face of stress, emphasizing mental health, social belonging, purpose, and meaning. She conducts longitudinal, randomized controlled trials to evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions across various populations, including students and elite athletes. Drawing on her experience as a former professional athlete, Isabelle develops policies and educational programs to promote mental health awareness and protect against abuse in professional sports. She served as a Safeguarding and Medical Delegate for dancesport at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Isabelle believes that sustaining athletic performance requires fostering supportive environments that prioritize athlete well-being. 


She earned her PhD in Developmental and Psychological Sciences from Stanford University and her BA (Honors) from New York University.
