Chelsie Burchett is a postdoctoral fellow in the Psychology department at Stanford University, working under Dr. Geoffrey Cohen’s mentorship. Her research is deeply informed by her personal experiences and her commitment to diversifying spaces for marginalized groups. Broadly, Chelsie aims to understand the psychosocial, interpersonal, and institutional barriers that hinder academic and career success for underrepresented scholars. Her expanding research portfolio focuses on diversity, equity, inclusion, and the sustained engagement of marginalized communities within academic institutions. Chelsie explores strategies for these institutions to actively support and retain underrepresented scholars. She employs a mixed-methods approach, utilizing longitudinal surveys, qualitative focus groups, and interventions.
Chelsie received her Ph.D. in Social and Health Psychology from Stony Brook University.
